Art Log!
Just a little place to kinda talk about my art, the references, inspirations, etc. This place might go into details about my characters so proceed with caution. Feel free to check out the full pieces on my art archive!
Sunny, 2025

A quick painting of Theo, inspired on a "Challengers" photoshoot.

Rough sketch, sketch clean-up and lineart. From seeing the rough sketch for this I noticed I forgot about his watch lmao x__X

Not a lot to say about this one to be honest! It was pretty straight forward; I saw this one photo on twitter which immediately reminded me of Theo. At the start the addition of Noelle was considered, but I have so little art of Theo by himself that I decided this was probably the perfect opportunity to just do so, and despite loving to draw them together I'm glad I decided this! lol
I really wanted to convey that summer and sunny vibe to it (hence, the title), that's one thing I associate Theo the most with, and something that Noelle relates to their love. I also wanted to add body-hair to him but AAAA >___< I feel like I can't quite yet paint body hair in my style while actually liking it! I'm so sorry to my body hair enjoyers out there, I failed you (and me!) OTL

So, the whole thing about these collages is to encapsulate a specific time on their relationship (a "phase" or something like that? I like to call them seasons, as they almost always see each other again in a different season lol). This one about them re-connecting in one of the regular places they used to see each other back in the day, a photo booth, and failing to remain "normal".
This one went through a lot of changes, not enough to change the overall feeling of the piece but enough to slow down the whole process! Every time I felt like I wanted to just sit down and actually finish it (and every time I actually had time to do so) I just couldn't, I had to re-paint it and just re-do a lot of stuff. If you took a peep onto Noelle's profile at my first site draft you probably saw one of the many wips and one of the many discarded wips lol. Tt even feels a bit cursed to look at! T__T
I started this one back in 2024, I think it was between the time I started a new job and that was mostly the reason why I couldn't really finish it in like one sit, it also wasn't planned to be a collage-type of painting really, at the start it was just them sitting there, but since lately I've been loving to do this kind of things I gave it a try to see if I could finish it on this new format (?) and it worked! I'm so happy to see it finally finished!
My friends on facebook also saw SOOOO MANY wips of this draw that they were probably as relieved to see it finished as I was lmao @__@

Servitude, 2025

"I know servitude is a virtue"

Lots of sketches until finally arriving to the final clean lineart version, and there were more sketches that I didn't save!

Rite of Spring
This one had really strong inspirations overall. First of all, and probably the biggest inspo for the composition, "The Rite of Spring" from Igor Stravinsky. Mostly the 1987's version but I would be lying if I say I didn't got inspired from the 2013 (?) version too. I found out about the ballet story and couldn't help but fall in love with it, not only the story of the ballet but of the performance itself. The whole thing got completely stuck in my head! o__O @__@ and, even thought I got into Rite of Spring before Tuesday got her new revival, one of these nights while I was trying to sleep but my mind was as hyperactive as always the idea of this art came to me like on of these typical music videos you make of your oc's lol.
This part is what inspired me the most.
In the latter half of the Rite of Spring, the girls have to participate in this one dance ritual, the girl who fails the most will be The Chosen One, ergo, The Sacrifice. Once The Sacrifice has been chosen, the girl just stands there for almost five whole minutes, paralized by the fear, while the rest of the girls dance around her in glee, happy to stay alive for another year. At one point, The Sacrifice enters her solo, a beautiful performance in which she -literally- dances herself to death. We see her completely terrified, attempting to escape, but her destiny was already written. It's amazing, is horrifying, and it's beautiful. Despite me spoiling the last part I highly recommend you to see it by yourself!

But, yeah, this explains the art itself, what on earth does his has to do with Tuesday? Well, long story short about Tuesday; every time she dies she will come back to life. So, as the image of The Sacrifice standing there kept coming to my mind I couldn't help but see Tuesday, and the whole drawing started from there. In this case, the rest of the girls from the rite are the next lives of Tuesday that just haven't been choosed yet, blinded by the ignorance of not knowing what this guy, Cole, is going to do with them too, eventually.

Brutality, or the lack thereof
The second theme is brutality, a bit of violence, but only implied. I didn't wanted to be that explicit with it, so I tried to keep it as a theme of red. I replaced Tuesday injuries with fruit, droplets of blood with pomegranate, and, at one point, Cole's bloodstained hands replaced by little heart marker doodles, something that I got rid of in the final piece because I felt it looked a bit confusing and just a little bit too much like blood lol.

Servitude

The last (but not least) theme would be the one that inspired the whole title of the draw, Chaosmaid by Paraoka, featuring Acme Iku.
I know servitude is a virtue, everything would break if it wasn't.
You can boast of submission when you try to crawl the earth.
I know pain is affection, connected with a synaptic logic
Dancing to an impure melody, to whom will you seem so unsightly?

Chaosmaid was a song made using Acme Iku, a MAIDLOID with the purpose of being used for erotic audios with her voicebank consisting of mostly lewd sounds and moans. Despite this, a lot of people (as creative VOCALOID/UTAU producers often are) used her for songs, and altough she sounds pretty broken as expected she actually doesn't as bad as one might believe. With this in mind, Chaosmaid is a song with a strong theme of her creation not only as a maid but also as a sexual object, something that I felt really close to what Tuesday is in this new life, I had to use lyrics to express the similitudes!
